Intervenient Stackelberg Game based Bandwidth Allocation Scheme for Hierarchical Wireless Networks

چکیده
In order to ensure the wireless connectivity and seamless service to mobile users, the next generation network system will be an integration of multiple wireless access networks. In a heterogeneous wireless access system, bandwidth allocation becomes crucial for load balancing to avoid network congestion and improve system utilization efficiency. In this article, we propose a new dynamic bandwidth allocation scheme for hierarchical wireless network systems. First, we derive a multi-objective decision criterion for each access point. Second, a bargaining strategy selection algorithm is developed for the dynamic bandwidth re-allocation. Based on the intervenient Stackelberg game model, the proposed scheme effectively formulates the competitive interaction situation between several access points. The system performance of proposed scheme is evaluated by using extensive simulations. With a simulation study, it is confirmed that the proposed scheme can achieve better performance than other existing schemes under widely diverse network environments.

Optimal hierarchical pricing schemes for wireless network usage and resource allocation
Typically the cost of a product has many components. Various components correspond to the production chain steps through which the product goes before meeting a customer. This also takes place in the price formation in wireless networks. For instance, before transmitting customer data, a network operator has to buy some frequency range and also establish contracts with electricity providers. In...
متن کاملA Stackelberg game-based spectrum allocation scheme in macro/femtocell hierarchical networks
Femtocells widely deployed in a macrocell form hierarchical cell networks, which can improve indoor coverage and network capacity, and have been regarded as one of the most promising approaches. However owing to the absence of coordination between the macro and femtocells, and among femtocells, decentralized spectrum allocation between macro and femtocell users become technically challenging. I...

متن کاملThe Role of Regulatory in Price Control and Spectrum Allocation to Competing Wireless Access Networks
With the rapid growth of wireless access networks, various providers offer their services using different technologies such as Wi-Fi, Wimax, 3G, 4G and so on. These networks compete for the scarce wireless spectrum. The spectrum is considered to be a scarce resource moderated by the spectrum allocation regulatory (“regulatory” for short) which is the governance body aiming to maximize the socia...
متن کاملResource Allocation Based Game Theory in a Converged Macro/Femto LTE Networks
In this article, we propose two levels of resource allocation method in a converged scenario for Macro and Femtocells LTE system. We use a Soft Frequency Reuse for guaranteeing the Quality of Service (QoS) for different Service Data Flows (SDFs) in the converged wireless networks. The first level of our method includes the use of bandwidth allocation between macro and femtocells and admission c...
